1960年代、建築家セドリック・プライスによって構想されたプロジェクト「Fun Palace」は、組み立て式モデュールとクレーンを使用した可動式建築であり、参加者が観劇や美術鑑賞や教育のための環境をカスタマイズし、インタラクティブで適応性のある文化の複合施設を作る着想でした。このアイディアに敬意を表して、タカ・イシイギャラリーは、現代美術にとどまらず、ジャンルを横断して同時代の表現者を紹介し、イメージや情報をシャッフルしてゆくことで、新しい関係性や発見を生むインスピレーション・ソースの場をつくりたいと考えます。また、オンラインストアを設けることで、アーティストを支援し、ケアすることの重要性を考えます。表現者、研究者、鑑賞者、それぞれのなかに連想的に生まれるアイディアを楽しむ、ウェブマガジン「Fun Palace」はそのきっかけを与える装置です。

“Fun Palace” was a project conceived by the architect Cedric Price in the 1960s. A mobile architecture using assembled modules and cranes, its idea was to allow the public to customize an environment for theatre, art, and education to form an interactive and adaptable cultural complex. Paying tribute to this work, Taka Ishii Gallery aims to showcase works not only by contemporary artists, but also contemporary creators transcending genres. Through a shuffling of images and information, it aims to create a site that provides inspiration and new relations and discoveries. The Gallery also hopes to support artists through its online store. The web magazine “Fun Palace” is a device that allows creators, researchers, and viewers to enjoy ideas born associatively in their minds.
